Biography

Rúcula was a Brazilian rock band formed in Araçatuba, São Paulo, in 1990. They emerged as a counterpoint to the many cover bands prevalent at the time, offering an energetic and original sound.

In 1991, the group released their self-titled debut album, which featured a unique blend of agitated instrumentals and poetic protest lyrics, carving out a distinct niche within the Brazilian heavy rock scene. Although their career was short-lived, their music gained some traction, with songs like "Na Rua" and "Bar" receiving airplay on local radio stations. The band's sound has been compared to that of bands like Herva Doce and Yahoo, but with a slightly heavier edge.

One notable member of Rúcula was vocalist Murilo Lima, who later joined Capital Inicial from 1993 to 1998, participating in two albums. Rúcula's legacy, though brief, represents an authentic moment in Brazilian rock, characterized by its raw energy and thoughtful lyrical content.
