Biography

Rumbora was a Brazilian alternative rock band formed in 1997 in Brasília, standing out in the national independent and mainstream scene of the late 1990s and early 2000s. The group was conceived by musicians Alf Sá and Beto Aloureiro, with its original lineup featuring Biu and Bacalhau. With an energetic sound that mixed rock, ska, and danceable elements, the band quickly caught the attention of the public and specialized critics with the release of their debut album, 71, in 1999.

The first record yielded remarkable hits such as "Chapírous" and "Skaô," a song that reached the top of the charts on radio stations in São Paulo and secured several nominations for important awards, including the Video Music Brasil and the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira. In 2000, they released their second album, Exército Positivo e Operante, landing hits like "O Mapa da Mina" and making their presence felt at major events, such as an energetic performance at Rock in Rio 3. After periods of lineup changes and musical reformulations, the group released the independent Trio Elétrico in 2004, before ending their activities in late 2005 so that their members could pursue new projects, with Alf Sá later playing in bands like Raimundos and Supergalo.

The band returned to the stage to celebrate their twenty years of history, reuniting founders Alf Sá and Beto Aloureiro alongside new collaborators, such as Iuri Rio Branco and Marcelo Vourakis. Throughout its trajectory, Rumbora established itself as one of the fundamental names of Brasília rock and the renewal of Brazilian alternative rock, engaging with the aesthetic of contemporary groups from the independent scene.
