Biography
Saara Saara was an experimental electronic music duo formed in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro. They gained notoriety in the 1980s alternative scene in Rio, with their music being played on Fluminense FM and in city nightclubs. The group was composed of Raul Rachyd and Servio Tulio, both originally from Bom Jesus do Itabapoana, in the interior of Rio de Janeiro.
Despite offers to record an album, the duo opted for independence, which meant their first official release, "Sucessos Que o Mundo Esqueceu", only came out in 2003, by which time the band was already performing sporadically. In 2011, Raul Rachyd passed away, interrupting plans for a second album. Servio Tulio passed away in 2023.
In 2023, "Sheherazade Que Se Cuide!", Saara Saara's second album, was released, gathering unreleased material such as demos, rare tracks, and live recordings, as a tribute to the members' memory. The work was released by the Astronauta Discos label and digitally distributed by Nikita Music Digital, presenting the public with a new perspective on the duo's work, which continues to win over admirers.
