Biography

Sadom is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 1980s. Considered one of the pioneers of heavy metal in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the band stood out for its raw and energetic sound, influenced by acts like Motörhead and Venom.

Throughout its career, Sadom has released several albums, including "Love and Death" (1991), "Tertius" (2005), and "Red Horizon". The band also explored Portuguese-language lyrics in its early compositions, which set it apart from many other bands of the era. Guitarist and vocalist Adriano Lima is the leader and main songwriter of the group, serving as the driving force behind its longevity.

Sadom made appearances on radio stations important to the Brazilian rock scene, such as the now-defunct Fluminense FM, affectionately known as "Maldita". Despite having faced periods of hiatus due to its members' side projects, the band has always returned with strength, maintaining its identity and loyal fanbase. Its discography, although not extensive, is a milestone for national heavy metal, notably highlighted by the "Love and Death" box set, which rescues demo recordings and early compositions.
