Biography

O Sagrado Inferno is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in 1983 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. It is considered one of the pioneers of the style in the capital of Minas Gerais, influencing bands like Chakal, Witchhammer, and even Sepultura. The band's early trajectory was marked by a demo recorded in 1984, but a tragedy interrupted their career in 1987 with the death of guitarist Silvinho in an accident.

After a long hiatus, Sagrado Inferno returned in 2012, now as a family trio, with Marcos Rodrigues ("Marquinhos MR"), an original member as the bassist, taking over the drums. Alongside him are his sons: Markin Junior on vocals and guitar, and Lucas on bass. This new lineup released an EP in 2016 and, in 2019, the eagerly awaited debut album "Bíblia do Diabo", through Cogumelo Records.

The band stands out for singing in Portuguese and maintaining a heavy and straightforward sound, which they themselves define as "Brazilian metalzão". Despite not seeking virtuosity, Sagrado Inferno captivates through the strength and essence of classic metal, honoring its legacy as one of the institutions of national metal.
