The Salvador Trio was a Brazilian jazz ensemble formed in 1965, led by the renowned pianist Dom Salvador (Salvador da Silva Filho). The trio also featured the exceptional talents of Edison Machado on drums, often hailed as one of Brazil's finest drummers, and Sergio Barroso on bass. This collaboration produced a distinctive sound that fused bossa nova with hard-hitting jazz melodies, establishing them as a significant force in Rio de Janeiro's vibrant music scene.

Dom Salvador, a pivotal figure in Brazilian jazz, had a rich history of collaborating with iconic artists such as Elis Regina, Jorge Ben, and Edu Lobo before forming the Salvador Trio.
