Biography
Crasimir Adelino Ramos Sambé is a Bissau-Guinean linguist, researcher, composer, and music producer who has established a notable academic and artistic presence in Brazil. Moving to Brazil in 2016, he earned his degree in Letters from UNILAB in 2020 and later completed his master's degree in Linguistics at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where he pursued further doctoral research focusing on linguistic policies and diglossia in Guinea-Bissau.
Alongside his rigorous academic career, Sambé maintains an active footprint as a musical artist and composer. He creates and releases music in both Portuguese and Guinean, weaving elements of his cultural heritage into his work while aiming to connect with broader Lusophone markets. His artistic trajectory operates parallel to his scholarly pursuits in sociolinguistics, multilinguism, and language policies.
Within the broader landscape of Brazilian and Lusophone-connected music and culture, his work reflects the rich intercultural exchanges between Brazil and African Portuguese-speaking nations. While his primary body of work bridges Bissau-Guinean identity with the Lusophone world, his presence connects to artists who explore diasporic and Afro-descendant musical dialogues, similar to figures like Bebel Gilberto and Milton Nascimento.
