Biography
Sandro Becker, stage name of Emanuel do Vale Trindade, was born in União dos Palmares, Alagoas, on August 12, 1954. He began his artistic career in the 1970s as a radio broadcaster in Maceió before seeking a place in the national music scene, gaining national prominence after winning a talent contest on Chacrinha's television show in Rio de Janeiro in 1977.
Initially, the singer flirted with rural rock, a style popularized by exponents such as Sá, Rodrix, and Guarabyra. Over time, however, he directed his career toward humor and irreverence, creating a distinct identity marked by mischievous and comedic lyrics, a genre that became known as "forró malícia." Among his greatest commercial successes is the song "Julieta," released in 1986, which earned him significant sales figures and gold records, in addition to lighthearted classics such as "A velha debaixo da cama" and "O gato Tico."
Throughout his career, Sandro Becker also composed works interpreted by other major names in Brazilian music, such as the hit "Xote dos Milagres," recorded by the group Falamansa. Having the King of Baião Luiz Gonzaga as his great idol and friend, the artist celebrated decades dedicated to Northeastern music, remaining active and releasing commemorative works such as the album "É Forró Pro Ano Inteiro."
