Biography

Scheila Carvalho Ladeira was born in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, on September 24, 1973. Since childhood, she showed a strong inclination for dance, dedicating herself to ballet and jazz, in addition to working as a lambada teacher during her adolescence and acting in theatrical plays in her hometown. Her life changed radically in 1997, when she won a national contest on the Domingão do Faustão show to become the new dancer of the group É o Tchan!, replacing Débora Brasil.

As a member of É o Tchan!, Scheila achieved enormous national and international projection, becoming one of the biggest pop icons of the late 1990s and early 2000s. She remained in the group for eight years, sharing the stage with prominent figures such as Carla Perez and Sheila Mello, and participating in highly successful tours, DVD recordings, and impressive sales of bahian pagode records. After ending her journey in group dancing, she consolidated her career on television as the host of the show Bom Demais on Record Bahia, in addition to acting in comedy sketches and participating in reality shows.

The artist also built a prominent career in Brazilian carnival, parading as a drum kit godmother and featured guest in various samba schools in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, besides leading electric trios in Salvador. Throughout her trajectory, she has been associated with major names in Brazilian music and television, such as Carla Perez, Sheila Mello, and Márcio Garcia. Her contribution to popular culture and entertainment has established her as one of the most media-focused personalities in the country.
