Biography
The Selton band is a Brazilian musical group formed in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, in 2005. Initially composed of four members, the band moved to Barcelona and, later, to Milan, Italy, where they developed their career and sound identity. Currently, the trio consists of Ramiro Levy (vocals and guitar), Eduardo Stein Dechtiar (bass) and Daniel Plentz (drums), with Ricardo Fischmann on keyboards and guitar in some formations.
Selton's trajectory began in a peculiar way, with performances on the streets of Barcelona, where they played Beatles covers. This initiative caught the attention of an Italian producer, who invited them to record an album. The result was "Banana à Milanesa" (2008), a debut record featuring Portuguese versions of 60s Italian hits. Success in Italy opened doors for the release of "Selton" (2010), featuring songs in Italian, and "Saudade" (2013), which included tracks in English and special guest appearances, such as Arto Lindsay.
Selton's sound is marked by the fusion of indie pop elements with Brazilian rhythms, creating a cultural bridge between the two countries. Over the course of a nearly two-decade career, the band has released seven studio albums, exploring different languages in their compositions, such as Portuguese, Italian, English and Spanish. The group has performed at important festivals and concert venues, both in Europe and Brazil, and has collaborated with various artists, maintaining a constant dialogue between their Brazilian roots and international experience.
