Biography
Sem Compromisso was a renowned Brazilian samba musical ensemble, specifically from the pagode branch, formed in São Paulo in the second half of the 1980s. The group was born in mid-1986 in the Itaquera neighborhood, in the eastern zone of São Paulo, initially emerging from gatherings of friends who played casual music after amateur soccer matches. Over time, they began playing in bars around the capital and gained professional visibility alongside the romantic pagode boom in the early 1990s.
Their official recording debut took place in 1992 with appearances on the compilation "Pagode de Primeira", opening doors for the release of their self-titled LP "Parte Desse Jogo" in the same year, which achieved a gold record and landed several hits on the radio. Throughout their career, the ensemble released striking albums such as "Pra Ficar", "Felicidade Escondida", and "Assim É O Nosso Jeito", accumulating significant awards from the recording industry and standing out alongside major exponents of the genre like Exaltasamba and Katinguelê.
The original lineup remained together until 2001, the year when internal disagreements resulted in the departure of most of the original members, leaving only vocalist Marcelinho to lead new lineups. The group continued active, releasing new work until officially ending their trajectory in 2016, leaving a solid legacy in the history of São Paulo's romantic pagode.
