Biography

Sergio Abalos is a renowned Argentine guitarist and composer, with a deep connection and extensive work linked to Brazilian music. Born into a family with a great musical tradition in Argentina, being the nephew of members of the iconic group "Los Hermanos Abalos", Sergio inherited and expanded his family's legacy, becoming a researcher and disseminator of Latin American music and rhythms. His musical background is solid, with formal studies in classical music, which gives him a refined technique and vast theoretical knowledge.

In 2009, Abalos moved to Brazil, where he established a remarkable collaboration with the legendary composer and guitarist Sebastião Tapajós. This partnership resulted in years of intense musical exchange, learning, and joint performances, culminating in the recording of the CD "Conversa de violões" in 2011, which explores tangos, choros, milongas, and original compositions. His sound is the result of the encounter of diverse experiences and rhythms, blending elements of Latin American, Argentine, afro, gypsy, and classical music, with a strong Brazilian influence that manifests in his way of playing and composing.

Throughout his career, Sergio Abalos has stood out for his versatility, moving between genres such as jazz, tango, folk music, and Brazilian music. He is known for his ability to adapt and transcribe music from other instruments for the guitar, in addition to exploring new sounds, such as the seven-string guitar. His international career has led him to perform on various stages across Europe and Latin America, consolidating him as an artist of projection and an ambassador of Latin American instrumental music.
