Despite being born blind, Sá demonstrated an exceptional talent for music from an early age, beginning his journey singing rock ballads.
Initially, in 1973, he used the pseudonym Paul Bryan to release his biggest hit as a performer, the song "Listen", which was part of the soundtrack of the soap opera "O Bem-Amado". However, it was as a composer that Sérgio Sá solidified his name in the Brazilian musical scene, having written over 350 songs. His compositions were recorded by renowned artists such as Roberto Carlos, Tim Maia, Fábio Jr., Simone, Vanusa, Chitãozinho & Xororó, and Fafá de Belém, among others.
In addition to his prolific career as a composer and performer, Sérgio Sá also stood out in children's music, composing for Rede Globo specials such as "Pirlimpimpim" and "Pluct, Plact, Zuuum". He was also responsible for the opening and soundtrack of the TV Cultura series "Mundo da Lua". His work extended beyond music, with participation in "Teatro Cego" (Blind Theater) and the publication of books, addressing themes such as inclusion and sensory perception.
