Biography

Serrinha e Caboclinho was an influential Brazilian sertanejo duo formed in 1943. Serrinha, the stage name of Antenor Serra, was born in São Paulo, SP. Caboclinho, the stage name of Marino Rabelo, was born in Pernambuco. The duo stood out in the traditional sertanejo music scene, with a repertoire that included modas de viola, toadas, and rasqueados.

Throughout their career, Serrinha e Caboclinho recorded over 50 78 rpm records, as well as LPs and CDs, establishing themselves as one of the most important names in caipira music. They won awards on Rádio Excelsior and participated in major radio programs, contributing to the popularization of the genre. The duo also performed across the country, bringing their music to diverse audiences.

The partnership of Serrinha e Caboclinho is remembered for the quality of their compositions and performances, many of them written by Serrinha himself. They left a significant legacy in sertanejo music, influencing generations of artists. The duo dissolved with the passing of Serrinha in 1978, but their work continues to be celebrated and rediscovered by fans of the genre.
