Biography
Conrado Vieira, better known by his stage name Shawlin (and later as Shaw and Cachorro Magro), is a prominent rapper, singer, and producer from Rio de Janeiro. He began his career at the age of 15, debuting with the track \"Aliança\" on the 1999 compilation Zoeira Hip Hop. Shawlin rose to national prominence as a key member of the collective Quinto Andar, a group often cited as the first Brazilian musical phenomenon of the internet era. He played a crucial role as a producer and performer on their landmark 2005 album, Piratão.\n\nAfter the disbandment of Quinto Andar, he launched a successful solo career, beginning with the album Ruas Vazias in 2007. In 2012, under the shortened name Shaw, he released Orquestra Simbólica, a conceptual work that explored daily urban life and social tensions. This era marked a transition in his style, leading to a significant rebranding in 2013. Following a period of personal transformation, he adopted the moniker Cachorro Magro, signaling a shift toward a more aggressive sound and darker lyrical themes.\n\nIn 2015, Shawlin collaborated with the Brazilian production duo Tropkillaz to release the EP O Inferno Do Cachorro Magro. This project fully embraced the trap music genre, contrasting with his earlier boom-bap roots. Throughout his various artistic iterations, he has remained a respected figure in the Brazilian underground hip-hop scene, known for his lyrical complexity and willingness to reinvent his musical identity.
