Biography

Sidney Cipriano, also known as Sidney Sinay, was born in São Paulo on October 24, 1964. He became widely known as one of the vocalists of the group Fat Family, which he joined alongside his siblings from 1996 until 2006. With the group, he achieved enormous success in the late 1990s and early 2000s, selling millions of records and charting hits such as "Jeito Sexy" and "Onde Foi Que Eu Errei?". The artist actively participated in the band's first albums and various soundtracks and television variety shows in Brazil, working alongside fundamental names in national music such as Djavan, Milton Nascimento, and Caetano Veloso.

Starting in 2003, Fat Family began incorporating elements of gospel music into their work, a movement that deepened in the following years. In 2006, Sidney left the group and adopted the stage name Sidney Sinay to pursue a solo career focused on the gospel segment. The following year, he released his only solo album, titled "Um Novo Homem", consolidating his transition to contemporary Christian music.

In addition to his artistic career, Sidney tried his hand at politics in 2005, running for Federal Deputy. The singer passed away on February 1, 2011, in Sorocaba, following complications arising from a stroke suffered weeks earlier. His musical contribution remains marked by his vocal power and the distinctive style that characterized Fat Family's trajectory in the history of Brazilian pop and gospel music.
