Biography

Silvio Ferreira de Brito is a well-known Brazilian singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist born in Três Pontas and raised in Varginha. Showing musical talent from an early age, he began his career performing on the radio as a child and later composed songs for prominent artists like Ronnie Von, Antônio Marcos, and Vanusa. During his youth, he also played in ballroom bands before embarking on a prolific solo recording career that spanned several decades, multiple gold records, and millions of album sales.

Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Silvio Brito achieved massive national success with a diverse repertoire that blended rock, protest music, and traditional Brazilian genres. His provocative and socially conscious tracks, such as "Pare o Mundo Que Eu Quero Descer" and "Espelho Mágico," occasionally drew the ire of the military dictatorship while establishing him as a distinctive voice in Brazilian popular music. He also collaborated and shared stages with numerous icons of the era, notably crossing paths with musical legends like Raul Seixas, Milton Nascimento, and Chico Anysio, as well as working closely with religious figures like Padre Zezinho.
