Biography

Simony Benelli Galasso, born in São Paulo, is a singer and television presenter who left her mark on the history of Brazilian children's music. The artist began her artistic journey in childhood, achieving enormous notoriety when she joined the group A Turma do Balão Mágico starting in 1983. Alongside names like Tob and later Jairzinho, she topped the charts and sold millions of records on Rede Globo's morning broadcasts, becoming an icon of 1980s children's pop culture.

After the group ended, Simony remained active by forming a famous duo with Jairzinho and, later, investing in her solo career in pop and romantic music, featuring albums and soap opera soundtracks. Over the years, she also stood out as a television presenter on networks such as Rede Manchete and SBT, in addition to exploring various musical genres, including samba and pagode, and connecting with artists from the scene like Alexandre Pires and Xande de Pilares.

Her journey is marked by great resilience, having overcome periods away from the media and, more recently, winning a public battle against intestinal cancer. Simony remains one of the most beloved and recognized figures in Brazilian music, celebrating decades of her career with commemorative tours and projects centered around her legacy with Balão Mágico.
