Biography

Síntese is a Brazilian rap group formed in 2010 in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, by Gestério Neto and Leonardo Irian. Initially a duo, they gained significant attention with their raw, lo-fi sound and introspective lyrics, particularly after the release of their acclaimed double album "Sem Cortesia (Vagando na Babilônia/Em Busca de Canaã)" in 2012. This album is considered a landmark in Brazilian hip-hop for its unique approach, characterized by short tracks, minimal refrains, and profound lyrical content that touched upon themes of depression, spirituality, and societal issues.

Following the release of "Sem Cortesia," Leonardo Irian was diagnosed with schizophrenia and gradually stepped away from the project. Gestério Neto continued Síntese as a solo act, maintaining the group's core artistic vision while navigating personal challenges and the evolution of Brazilian rap. Despite the change in lineup, Síntese has continued to release music, including the album "Trilha Para o Desencanto da Ilusão Vol. 1: AMEM" in 2016, produced by Daniel Ganjaman, which further explored spiritual and existential themes.

Síntese is recognized for its authentic voice within the Brazilian rap scene, often described as having a mystical energy and a mission to inspire and transform.
