Biography

Valter Araújo de Souza, artistically known as Slim Rimografia, is an influential rapper, singer, and songwriter from São Paulo who began his journey in hip hop culture as a b-boy and graffiti artist before turning to music professionally in 1996. His recording career gained national prominence with the release of his debut album, "Financeiramente Pobre" (2003), which was acclaimed by critics as one of the best rap records of the period and earned the artist a nomination for Revelation at the prestigious Hutúz Award.

Over the years, Slim established himself as a versatile and introspective artist, exploring sounds that go beyond traditional rap. In 2011, he demonstrated his literary and educational facet by adapting the classic poem "O Navio Negreiro" by Castro Alves into a rap and illustrated book format, reinforcing the connection between classical literature and urban culture. The artist is frequently associated with producer Thiago Beats, with whom he developed fundamental partnerships in his discography.

In addition to his strong presence in the independent scene and appearances on shows like Multishow's "Experimente" with the band Projetonave, Slim Rimografia achieved widespread popular visibility in 2014 by participating in the 14th edition of the reality show Big Brother Brasil. His musical output remained active with albums like "Aumenta o Volume" and collaborations with other names in Brazilian national rap, such as Rael, maintaining his relevance in the Brazilian urban music scene.
