Biography
SNZ was a Brazilian girl group formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1997 by sisters Sarah Sheeva, Nãna Shara, and Zabelê Gomes. They are the daughters of renowned musicians Baby do Brasil and Pepeu Gomes. Inspired by the success of international girl groups, SNZ signed with Warner Music in 1999. Their debut single, "Longe do Mundo," was featured on the soundtrack of the film "O Trapalhão e a Luz Azul." Their self-titled debut album, released in 2000, included original songs by the sisters and became popular with hits like "Retrato Imaginário." The album sold over 150,000 copies.
In 2001, SNZ released their second album, "Sarahnãnazabelê," produced by Paulo Jeveaux. The single "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You" was a hit, featured in the soundtrack of the soap opera "Um Anjo Caiu do Céu." The group performed at Rock in Rio 3 and received recognition at the Prêmio Multishow de Música Brasileira. In 2002, they released "Remix Hits" and the single "DNA do Som."
In 2003, Sarah Sheeva left the group to pursue a solo career in gospel music, and SNZ continued as a duo. In 2006, Nãna and Zabelê released "ZumZum e Pronto." The duo eventually separated two years later, and SNZ's active period concluded in 2009. Despite their relatively short career, SNZ left a significant mark on Brazilian pop music, influencing subsequent female artists.
