Biography

Só Preto Sem Preconceito is a Brazilian samba and pagode musical group formed in Rio de Janeiro during the 1980s. The ensemble first gained broader attention by participating in the 1985 compilation album Na Aba do Pagode, released by EMI-Odeon, which featured their tracks Viola em Bandoleira and Preste Atenção. Building on this early exposure, the group released their self-titled debut LP in 1987, eventually earning widespread commercial success with hits like Toque Mágico, É Tanta, and Coisa Mais Linda.

Throughout their career, the band has achieved significant milestones, including receiving four gold records and three platinum records, alongside a nomination for the Prêmio Sharp in the best samba group category in 1991. Their extensive discography spans over a dozen releases, culminating in their 25th-anniversary album titled Vencedor in 2010. The group's lineup has featured notable musicians such as Paulinho, Cimar, Reginaldo, and former member Délcio Luiz, contributing to the rich tradition of Brazilian pagode alongside contemporaries like Fundo de Quintal and Zeca Pagodinho.
