Biography
Supergalo is a Brazilian rock band formed in 2007 in Brasília, Federal District. The group emerged from the desire of former members of renowned Brazilian rock bands, such as Raimundos, Maskavo and Rumbora, to explore new sounds and musical proposals. The original lineup featured Alf (vocals and guitar, ex-Rumbora), Daniel Barbosa (bass, ex-Raimundos), Fred Castro (drums, ex-Raimundos) and Marcelo Vourakis (guitar and vocals, ex-Maskavo).
The sound of Supergalo is characterized by a raw rock, with influences ranging from punk to rockabilly, but always with its own identity. The lyrics frequently bring irony and contestation, reflecting the cultural ebullience of Brasília. In 2008, the band released their first album, titled "#1", which featured production by Alexandre Griva and Carlos Eduardo Miranda. The record presented songs like "Bombando em Bagdá" and "Nada!".
The band has performed shows in Brazil, Europe and Argentina, showing the strength of their straightforward rock. Despite being formed by experienced musicians, Supergalo sought an authentic path, exploring well-known elements of rock from various eras to create something new, without being a mere repetition of what had already been done. The band's trajectory, although not very long, left its mark on the Brazilian rock scene.
