Tânia Bicalho is a Brazilian singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist born in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, on May 2, 1965. She is recognized for her strong and distinctive voice, and for her versatile musical style that blends MPB with pop and jazz influences. Bicalho has a talent for incorporating regional instruments into her music without limiting herself to regional genres, setting her apart in the contemporary Brazilian music scene.

Her career gained significant attention with the release of her album "VIOLAzz" in 2001, an independent production that showcased her potential as a complete artist.
