Biography

Carlos Antonio Mattos, better known as Tantão, was born in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, in 1963. He is a multifaceted artist with a career spanning punk rock, songwriting, and acting. In the 1980s, Tantão was a member of the band Black Future, a milestone of Rio de Janeiro's punk scene, where he worked as a keyboardist and songwriter.

His musical journey led him to collaborate with other artists and projects. More recently, Tantão has worked with producers Cainã Bomilcar and Abel, forming the duo Os Fita, with whom he released albums such as "Drama". This partnership demonstrates Tantão's continued relevance in the music scene, exploring new sounds and maintaining his visceral lyrical identity.

Tantão is recognized for his sensitivity in addressing contemporary themes with forcefulness. His work, which moves between punk and other experimentations, reflects a critical and engaged view of reality.
