Biography

The band Taranatiriça, one of the pillars of rock gaúcho, emerged in Porto Alegre in the late 70s, starting their activities in the early 80s. Influenced by heavy metal, the group quickly established themselves as a reference in the genre, releasing their debut album, "Totalmente Rock", in 1985. The classic lineup featured Alemão Ronaldo on vocals, Marcelo Truda on guitar, Paulo Mello on bass, and Cau Hafner on drums. Their success intensified with the release of "Taranatiriça II" in 1987, which earned them a contract with a major record label.

The band's peak was interrupted by a hiatus, but the legacy remained. Two decades after halting activities, Taranatiriça returned in 2012, featuring the original core and drummer Fábio Muscklinho. The comeback was marked by concert performances, the recording of a live DVD, and the promise of new music, maintaining the group's characteristic energy and heaviness. The band is known for their energetic performances, which included special effects and pyrotechnics, trademark features of their shows.

Throughout their trajectory, Taranatiriça released albums such as "Totalmente Rock" (1985) and "Taranatiriça II" (1987), in addition to appearances on compilations like "Rock Garagem" (1984), where the song "Rockinho" achieved great prominence and resonance. The band is remembered for hits like "Velho Esquema", "Fazê um Bolo", "Tereza", and "Guisadinho", establishing themselves as a fundamental name in the history of Brazilian rock, especially within the scene of Rio Grande do Sul.
