Biography

Tati Quebra Barraco, stage name of Tatiana dos Santos Lourenço, was born in Rio de Janeiro on September 21, 1979, and raised in the Cidade de Deus favela. Before achieving fame in music, she worked as a cook at a community daycare and started attending funk parties in her teens. Her artistic journey began in 1997, standing out as one of the first women to sing openly about sexual desires and female autonomy in carioca funk.

Throughout her career, she established herself as one of the major names in the genre, releasing landmark works such as the album Boladona in 2004, which yielded nationally successful hits and international projection with tours through Europe and Latin America. She also became an icon of representation and a defender of feminist and LGBTQIA+ causes, influencing new generations of artists. Over the years, she shared stages and projects with important names in the scene, such as MC Carol, DJ Marlboro, and Bonde do Tigrão.

In addition to her pioneering musical contribution, Tati has participated in various television programs, documentaries, and reality shows, maintaining her cultural relevance for decades. Throughout her trajectory, she has collaborated with multiple producers and influenced several artists of national funk. Her work remains a milestone in the history of Brazilian peripheral music.
