Biography

Tchê Garotos is a Brazilian musical group founded in December 1995 in the city of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. The band was born after members such as Sandro Coelho, Markynhos Ulyian, and Fernando Marinho left the group Garotos de Ouro, establishing itself as one of the pioneers of the Tchê Music movement, which blends traditional vanerão with strong percussion and swing elements.

Throughout its career, the ensemble gained major national prominence by landing several hits and selling over 1 million records, accumulating impressive phonographic records such as eighteen CDs and three DVDs, in addition to important awards including five Gold Records and a Gold DVD. Among their best-known tracks are "Tô Voltando Pra Ficar", "Ajoelha e Chora", and "Cachorro Perigoso", the latter included in the soundtrack of the soap opera Avenida Brasil, broadcast by TV Globo.

Maintaining the proposal of uniting gaúcha tradition with modernity, the band's lineup underwent several changes over the years, even featuring the return of musicians like Luiz Cláudio in 2018. In 2017, the group also introduced the commemorative project Origens, designed to rescue the repertoire and musical identity of its initial phase, reaffirming its relevance within regional and popular Brazilian music alongside other exponents of the genre such as Garotos de Ouro.
