Biography

Victor Mateus Teixeira Filho, known professionally as Teixeirinha Filho, was born on February 14, 1953, in Taquara, Rio Grande do Sul. He is the son of the legendary Brazilian musician, actor, and filmmaker Vitor Mateus Teixeira, better known as Teixeirinha. Following in his father's footsteps, Teixeirinha Filho began his artistic career in 1974, appearing in the film "O Pobre João," which starred his father and Mary Terezinha. He continued to collaborate with his father on films and music throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, participating in productions until Teixeirinha's last film, "A Filha de Iemanjá," in 1981.

In the 1990s, Teixeirinha Filho launched his solo career, releasing several albums that paid homage to his father's work, as well as featuring original compositions. His discography includes albums such as "Homenagem a Meu Pai" (1991), "Gauderiada" (1995), and "História de Amor" (1998). He has also performed and recorded with his own son, Teixeirinha Neto, continuing the family's musical legacy. Together, they blend traditional Gaúcho music with contemporary elements, performing shows across Brazil that celebrate the rich musical heritage of Rio Grande do Sul.

Beyond his music career, Teixeirinha Filho also holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from PUCRS. Despite his academic background, his passion for the arts led him to pursue music, acting, and production. He has been described as a charismatic and engaging storyteller, much like his father, and continues to be an active presence in the traditional Brazilian music scene, ensuring the enduring legacy of the Teixeirinha name.
