Biography

Marcelo Wilson Fragoso Borges, artistically known as Telo Borges, is an instrumentalist, singer, and composer who stands as one of the fundamental names of the Clube da Esquina. Born in Belo Horizonte in 1958, he grew up in an intensely musical home environment, being the youngest of a talented family that includes his brothers Lô Borges and Márcio Borges. His formal initiation into music occurred through the piano at age 13, and it did not take long for his talent as a composer to flourish, creating the song "Voa Bicho" at age 14.

Throughout his career, Telo has consolidated himself as a vital link between the generations of the Minas Gerais movement. One of the highlights of his trajectory was international recognition in 2013, when he won a Grammy Award for the composition "Tristesse," created in partnership with Milton Nascimento. In addition to his prolific solo production, phonographically initiated with participations in historical albums such as "Milagre dos Peixes," Telo maintains the tradition of Minas Gerais musical gatherings, as seen in projects uniting the Borges and Venturini families.
