Biography

Tequila Baby is a prominent Brazilian punk rock and hardcore band formed in 1994 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. Throughout their career, the group became known for revitalizing the local rock scene with high-energy performances and a style heavily inspired by the Ramones, while later incorporating elements of hardcore and more introspective lyricism. Their lineup has featured notable musicians such as vocalist Duda Calvin, guitarist James Andrew, drummer Rafael Heck, and bassist Rodrigo Gaspareto.

The band achieved significant milestones, including collaborations and shared stages with international punk rock royalty like Marky Ramone, the legendary drummer of the Ramones, and Daniel Rey, who produced some of their standout records. Albums like their 1996 self-titled debut, 2000's Sangue, Ouro e Pólvora, and 2002's Punk Rock Até os Ossos helped cement their reputation across Brazil. They also made history with live joint releases and extensive touring, bridging the gap between traditional punk attitude and mature rock musicianship.

Over nearly three decades of activity, Tequila Baby has released numerous acclaimed studio and live albums, such as Lobos Não Usam Coleira and Por Onde Você Andava?. Their influence extends across the southern Brazilian rock landscape, inspiring generations of punk and alternative musicians. Alongside contemporaries of the independent rock scene, they remain an enduring staple of Brazilian punk history.
