Biography

Thaís Nogueira is a Brazilian singer and songwriter deeply rooted in the traditional forró pé de serra genre. Born in Aracaju, Sergipe, she comes from a prominent musical family, often referred to as the Carira Musical family. Her grandfather, Manezinho de Carira, was a renowned accordionist, and her father, Erivaldo de Carira, is a singer and accordionist who passed down the tradition of forró. Nogueira began her professional career at the age of 12 as a vocalist in her father's band, alongside her brother Mestrinho. She also performed with the group Trio Juriti, which gained recognition at the Festival Nacional de Forró de Itaúnas.

Nogueira's musical style is defined by her strong connection to traditional Brazilian popular music, particularly the forró genre. Her influences include foundational artists of Northeastern music such as Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos, and Elba Ramalho, as well as the singer Marinês. She has internationalized her music, performing in countries like Russia, Portugal, France, and the Netherlands, bringing the sounds of forró to global audiences. Her commitment to preserving and promoting traditional forró is a core aspect of her artistic identity.

Throughout her career, Thaís Nogueira has released several albums and singles, including "Volume 03" (2015) and "Me Acorda pra Sonhar" (2019). She has also collaborated with various artists, including her brother Mestrinho, on songs like "Forró Sem Parea."
