Biography
Formed in 2004 in the historic city of São Cristóvão, Sergipe, The Baggios is a Brazilian blues-rock band known for its visceral and authentic sound that blends influences from 1960s and 70s blues and rock with distinctly Brazilian rhythms, particularly from the Northeast.
The band's current lineup consists of Júlio Andrade (vocals, guitar, acoustic guitar, electric bass), Gabriel Perninha (drums), and Rafael Ramos (keyboards, electric bass). The name "The Baggios" is an homage to a wandering musician from their hometown of São Cristóvão, a local legend who inspired a generation of young musicians.
Throughout their career, The Baggios have toured extensively in Brazil and internationally, performing at major festivals such as Virada Cultural de São Paulo and Lollapalooza Brasil. They have also opened for renowned Brazilian artists like Os Paralamas do Sucesso, O Rappa, and Marcelo D2. The band has received two Latin Grammy nominations and has been recognized for their significant contributions to Brazilian rock music.
