Biography

The Fevers is a prominent Brazilian rock and pop band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1964, closely associated with the vibrant Jovem Guarda movement. Originally starting under names like Conjunto Young and The Fenders, the group eventually adopted their iconic moniker influenced by Elvis Presley's song. Throughout the mid-1960s and 1970s, they became a powerhouse of vocal-instrumental music, frequently providing instrumental backing for legendary artists such as Roberto Carlos, Erasmo Carlos, Jorge Ben, and Wilson Simonal. Their ability to blend catchy melodies with rock energy cemented their status as one of the country's most successful ballrooms and recording acts.

In the 1980s, the band achieved massive mainstream penetration by recording chart-topping television soap opera theme songs, most notably 'Elas por Elas' and 'Guerra dos Sexos' for Rede Globo. Their versatility also extended to children's music when they participated in the recording of the legendary track 'Uni Duni Tê' with Trem da Alegria. Over more than five decades of continuous activity, The Fevers have released dozens of albums, selling millions of copies and earning numerous gold and platinum certifications through retrospective projects and live DVDs celebrating milestones like the 40th anniversary of Jovem Guarda.

Maintaining an energetic touring schedule well into the 21st century, the band has consistently updated its lineup while preserving its core identity. Key founding members like Liebert Ferreira have anchored the group alongside long-serving vocalists such as Luiz Cláudio, adapting to modern production while celebrating classic hits like 'Mar de Rosas'. Recognized by television polls as one of Brazil's most popular groups, The Fevers remain a beloved institution bridging generational divides in Brazilian popular music.
