Biography

The Mist is a Brazilian thrash metal band formed in mid-1988 from remaining members of the group Mayhem, following the addition of vocalist Vladimir Korg, who had left Chakal. The ensemble gained notoriety the very following year with the release of their debut album, Phantasmagoria, standing out for a sound that united thrash metal with prominent heavy metal elements.

In 1991, the group consolidated their identity with the acclaimed concept album The Hangman Tree, marked by gloomy atmospheres and poetic lyrics inspired by literature and cinema, featuring the debut of guitarist Jairo Guedz and compositions by Cello Dias. Over the following years, the lineup underwent several changes and experimented with sounds linked to industrial metal in works like Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust and Gottverlassen, besides seeing stints by musicians such as drummer Chris Salles and bassist Cassiano Gobbet, while Cello Dias later joined Soulfly.

After a long period of inactivity, Vladimir Korg resumed the band's activities alongside Jairo Guedz and Chris Salles, embarking on celebratory tours before restructuring the lineup with Wesley Ribeiro and Edu Megale. In 2021, the group entered the studio under the production of Alan Wallace, from the band Eminence, to record the EP The Circle of the Crow, marking the ensemble's phonographic return after more than two decades and featuring drummer Riccardo Linassi.
