Biography
The Troops of Doom is a Brazilian death/thrash metal band formed in 2020. The band was founded by Jairo "Tormentor" Guedz, the original guitarist from Sepultura, known for his work on "Bestial Devastation" and "Morbid Visions." The current lineup also includes bassist/vocalist Alex Kafer, drummer Alexandre Oliveira, and guitarist Marcelo Vasco.
The band's sound is heavily influenced by the raw and aggressive style of early Sepultura and other 80s and 90s death and thrash metal bands. Their music is characterized by fast tempos, brutal riffs, and a dark, often horror-themed lyrical content. The Troops of Doom aim to recapture the primitive sound and production of classic extreme metal, creating a visceral auditory experience that resonates with fans of the old school.
Since their formation, The Troops of Doom have released several EPs and two full-length albums, "Antichrist Reborn" (2022) and "A Mass to the Grotesque" (2024). They have gained recognition within the thrash metal community for their authentic sound and energetic performances, continuing the legacy of Brazilian extreme metal.
