Biography

Thiago Mattos dos Santos Amud, born in Rio de Janeiro on April 26, 1980, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, arranger, and acoustic guitarist. He began his musical studies on the acoustic guitar at age 13 and pursued a bachelor's degree in Brazilian Popular Music at UNI-Rio, with a specialization in musical arrangement. Throughout his career, he has stood out in the MPB scene for combining an avant-garde attitude with complex orchestrations, establishing notable partnerships with major names in Brazilian music and having his works interpreted by renowned artists such as Milton Nascimento, Alcione, and Ana Carolina.

In 2010, he made his recording industry debut with the album Sacradança, followed by De Ponta a Ponta Tudo é Praia-Palma in 2013. Amud was also part of Coletivo Chama, actively participating in the group's touring and the production of collective works such as the album Todo Mundo é Bom (2016). His recognition grew with the albums O Cinema Que o Sol Não Apaga (2018) and São (2021), in addition to his collaboration with Caetano Veloso on the title track of the album Meu Coco, for which he created the horn arrangements.

Throughout his career, Thiago Amud has accumulated important awards, such as the Prêmio Profissionais da Música Brasileira in the categories of best author and best singer. His work moves between song and set-to-music poetry, receiving praise from national and international specialized critics for his sophisticated aesthetic signature and technical rigor.
