Biography

Thomas Marco Roth, born on December 28, 1951, in Rio de Janeiro, is a renowned Brazilian advertising executive, music producer, composer, and singer. With a career spanning over 50 years, Roth began his journey at the Sonima production company and later founded Lua Nova, an advertising sound production company, as well as the independent record label Lua Discos. His work in the music industry is vast, ranging from the production of over 10,000 advertising phonograms to artistic career management.

As a composer, Thomas Roth is the author of over 250 songs, many of them performed by major names in Brazilian music, such as Elis Regina, Roupa Nova, Ronnie Von, Jane Duboc, and Placa Luminosa. Songs like "Canção de verão", "Vôo livre", and "Cachoeira" are examples of his songwriting success. His partnership with Luiz Guedes in the 1980s resulted in several LPs and 7-inch singles that defined the era, cementing him as an important name in the music scene.

In addition to his work behind the scenes in music, Thomas Roth also stood out as a singer and host, participating in various television programs and acting as a judge on musical reality shows like "Ídolos" and "Qual é o Seu Talento?". In 2021, he launched the project "Ouro Velho", a series of singles and lyric videos that revisits his catalog of work, including previously unreleased compositions and new recordings, serving as an "anti-ageism" manifesto and a celebration of his artistic maturity.
