Biography

Sebastião Inês Pereira, known professionally as Tiãozinho, was a Brazilian footballer who played as a midfielder. Born on January 20, 1965, in Nortelândia, Mato Grosso, he began his career in the early 1980s.

Tiãozinho had a notable career playing for several Brazilian clubs, most notably Goiás, where he played from 1983 to 1988, and later for Novorizontino, Joinville, and Anapolina. He was recognized for his skill, speed, and finishing ability, contributing to Goiás's four state championship titles. His participation in Novorizontino's successful campaign in the 1990 São Paulo state championship also marked his career.

Tragically, Tiãozinho passed away on July 29, 2020, at the age of 55, due to complications from COVID-19. His death was mourned by the football community, with Goiás Esporte Clube issuing an official statement expressing their sorrow and solidarity with his family and friends. He is remembered as a talented player who left his mark on Brazilian football.
