Biography

Formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1993, Tigres de Bengala was a Brazilian supergroup comprising established musicians from the Brazilian pop-rock scene. The band's lineup included Vinicius Cantuária (vocals, drums), Claudio Zolli (vocals), Ritchie (vocals, guitar), Dadi (bass), Mú Carvalho (keyboards), and Billy Forghieri (keyboards). Despite the caliber of its members, the project was short-lived, releasing only one self-titled album in 1993.

The album featured a blend of musical influences, reflecting the diverse trajectories of its members. It produced notable singles such as "Elefante Branco" and "Agora ou Jamais," the latter of which was included in the soundtrack of the popular Rede Globo telenovela "Olho no Olho." The band's sound was characterized by a sophisticated musicality, incorporating elements of adult pop, jazz, soul, and rock, which set it apart from the mainstream of the time. This unique approach has since led to the project becoming a cult favorite among fans of Brazilian music from the 80s and 90s.
