Biography
Born in São Paulo in 1991, Tim Bernardes is a leading figure in contemporary Brazilian music, recognized as a singer, producer, and composer. The son of musician Maurício Pereira, Bernardes was immersed in the recording studio environment from a young age, eventually forming the indie rock band O Terno in 2009. His work with the band helped establish him as a central name in the 'Nova MPB' movement, blending classic Brazilian influences with modern indie sensibilities.\n\nBernardes launched a successful solo career in 2017 with the album 'Recomeçar,' a deeply personal project that explored themes of solitude and the social-political climate of Brazil. The album earned him a Latin Grammy nomination and critical acclaim for its sophisticated arrangements. He has since become a frequent collaborator for Brazilian music legends; he notably wrote the song 'Realmente Lindo' for Gal Costa and provided the track 'Prudência' for Maria Bethânia’s 35th studio album. \n\nHis second solo effort, 'Mil Coisas Invisíveis' (2022), further showcased his talent for composition and production, earning another Latin Grammy nomination in the Best MPB Album category.
