Tio Fresh is a prominent figure in the Brazilian hip-hop scene, with a career spanning over two decades. He first gained recognition as a DJ for the group MRN (Movimento e Ritmo Negro) in the mid-1990s. Transitioning to MCing, he became a key member of SP Funk, a group that significantly influenced the São Paulo rap movement with its fusion of hip-hop, dance music, and social commentary. SP Funk's impact extended to later generations of artists, including Emicida and Rashid.

Throughout his career, Tio Fresh has collaborated with a wide array of Brazilian artists, showcasing his versatility. He was part of the collective Motirô and has released solo work, such as the album "Brazil Hip Hop Clube," which featured collaborations with established names like Rappin' Hood, DJ Hum, Emicida, and Sombra. His musical contributions have also been recognized in film soundtracks, further broadening his reach within Brazilian popular culture.

Actively involved in the hip-hop community, Tio Fresh continues to release music and participate in events. In 2022, SP Funk announced its return with Tio Fresh and Mr. Bomba, releasing new material and signaling further projects.
