Biography

Fabrício Cardoso Kraychete, artistically known as Tomate, was born in Salvador, Bahia, on November 18, 1982. He began his musical career at the age of 16 and soon stood out in the axé music scene. Before pursuing a solo career, he was the lead singer of the band Rapazolla for seven years, a period during which the band released two CDs and a DVD, consolidating their success with hits like "Coração".

In 2008, Tomate decided to forge a solo path, seeking work that better reflected his irreverent personality and eclectic musical style. His solo career was marked by hits such as "Te Espero no Farol" and "A Gente Se Vê Depois da Chuva", as well as releases like the CDs "Atitude" and "Alternativo Popular", and a self-titled DVD. He also stood out as one of the main trio elétrico leaders in the Bahia carnival, known for his contagious energy.

Throughout his trajectory, Tomate demonstrated versatility by exploring different rhythms, including pop, rock, dance, metal, and sertanejo, without abandoning his roots in axé. In 2023, after a period of "artistic exile" in the United States, he returned to Brazil and resumed his musical career, even releasing music under the name Tom Kray, although he emphasizes that "Tomate is Tomate" and that his musical legacy remains the same. He is recognized for his ability to transition between diverse genres and for his strong connection with the audience.
