Biography

Tomaz Miranda is a Brazilian arranger, singer and instrumentalist born in Rio de Janeiro on July 14, 1987. He began his musical studies at six years of age, taking classical and popular piano lessons, in addition to music theory, harmony and arranging. At thirteen, he began studying the cavaquinho, an instrument that would become central to his career.

His artistic career began at age 14, performing in music venues in Lapa and the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro. Over the years, he expanded his work to international stages, with performances in Argentina and France. Miranda was also a member of the ProArte Wind Orchestra and was involved with the Simpatia é Quase Amor Carnival Block, where he acted as a mestre-sala and, later, director.

In 2012, he launched his first solo show, "Nossa Roda de Samba", and in 2015, he presented the CD "Os Sambas que me Dizem", featuring original compositions in partnership with Manuela Trindade, which included guest appearances by renowned artists such as Moacyr Luz and Beth Carvalho. Tomaz Miranda also graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Arranging from Uni-Rio and, concurrently, studied Law at UERJ, working at the Public Defender's Office of Rio de Janeiro.
