Tony Bizarro, born Luiz Antônio Bizarro in São Paulo, was a prominent Brazilian singer, songwriter, and producer known for his contributions to soul and funk music. He began his musical journey in 1968 alongside Frankye Arduini, forming the duo Tony & Frankye, with whom he released a self-titled album in 1971. Throughout his career, he collaborated with legendary figures of Brazilian music such as Tim Maia and Lincoln Olivetti, establishing himself as a versatile and influential artist within the national scene.

Following the end of his duo with Arduini, Bizarro transitioned into a successful career as a producer for the Polydor label. In this role, he shaped the sound of several notable records by artists like Cassiano, Odair José, and Sidney Magal, while also overseeing important cultural projects including "Cem Anos de Samba" and "Cem Anos de Carnaval." His creative output extended across decades, highlighted by solo albums such as Nesse Inverno and Alma Negra.

Bizarro's legacy in Brazilian soul and funk remains enduring, marked by his distinct voice, songwriting talent, and production prowess. He worked alongside other notable musicians like Robson Jorge and Almir Ricardi before passing away in São Paulo in 2022 due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. His work continues to be celebrated by fans and scholars of Brazil's soul movement.
