Biography

Jorge Antônio da Silva Santos, widely known as Tony Salles, is a prominent Brazilian singer and composer, primarily recognized for his contributions to the pagode baiano and axé music genres. His career began in 1996 as the vocalist for Banda Balangandã. By 1999, he rose to national fame as the frontman for Banda Cafuné. A significant milestone in his career was joining the iconic group É o Tchan in 2002, where he achieved widespread recognition with hits like "Fissura."

In 2006, Salles ventured into leading his own band, Raghatoni, before taking the helm of Parangolé in 2014, succeeding Léo Santana. Under his leadership, Parangolé continued to achieve success, releasing popular singles such as "Tchuco no Tchaco." Salles has also participated in reality television, notably "Dancing Brasil" in 2017, where he was the third contestant eliminated.

After a decade with Parangolé, Tony Salles announced his departure in 2024 to pursue a solo career, rebranding himself as TONY SALLES. This new phase aims to explore diverse musical influences, blending contemporary pagode with elements of his past work, promising a fresh sound while honoring his roots. He is married to singer and dancer Scheila Carvalho.
