Biography

O Tribunal MCs is a Brazilian rap group formed in the city of São Paulo in 1990. Emerging from the São Paulo hip hop scene, the group established itself as a powerful voice in the outskirts, addressing social complexities, inequality, and the reality of urban communities in its lyrics. Their trajectory is marked by authenticity and strong social critique, following the line of other national rap icons, such as Racionais MC's.

The group's current lineup features Mano Fran (vocals), Preto (vocals), and Ronaldo (DJ). However, the history of Tribunal MCs also includes other members in its initial lineup, such as Bandido and Função, who later gave way to Fran, Preto, and Ronaldo. This evolution in composition did not diminish the strength and identity of the group, which continued to produce music with hard-hitting messages.

Since the release of their first EP, "Química Perfeita", in 1999, Tribunal MCs has built a relevant discography, featuring albums such as "Mantendo a Real" (2000), "A Arte da Guerra" (2002), and "Quem Deve Paga, Quem Merece Recebe" (2013). Their songs frequently explore themes such as the struggle for survival, social justice, and the resilience of the peripheral people, consolidating Tribunal MCs as a fundamental pillar in the history of Brazilian rap.
