Biography
Trio Balanço Bom was a Brazilian forró trio formed in 1998. The group consisted of Caito on accordion and vocals, Cris on zabumba and vocals, and Marcelo Mimoso on triangle and vocals. Caito and Cris are the sons of Zé da Onça, a pioneer of the Northeastern fair in São Cristóvão. Marcelo Mimoso is the son of accordionist Fidélis. The trio was active for a period, releasing the album "De Corpo, Alma e Coração" in 2006. They were known for their traditional forró sound, often incorporating elements of Northeastern Brazilian music.
The group's name, "Balanço Bom," translates to "good swing" or "good groove," reflecting the rhythmic and danceable nature of their music. Their repertoire included both original compositions and interpretations of classic forró songs. The trio aimed to preserve and promote the rich heritage of forró music, a genre deeply rooted in the culture of Brazil's Northeast.
While the trio eventually disbanded, their music continues to be appreciated by fans of traditional Brazilian forró. Their legacy is tied to the vibrant musical scene of São Cristóvão, a place known for its strong Northeastern cultural influence in Rio de Janeiro. The members have continued their musical careers individually, carrying forward the traditions they inherited.
