Biography

Trio da Vitória was a Brazilian sertanejo music group formed in 1957. The original lineup featured cousins João Venâncio do Nascimento Neto (Venâncio) and Luiz Salatiel de Oliveira (Venancinho), both born in Batatais (SP), and accordionist Antonio Mariano da Silva (Cambuí), a native of Ituiutaba (MG). The families of Venâncio and Venancinho moved to Goiânia when the members were still young, and it was there that they began singing together.

The group stood out for their "unmistakable voices," as announced by the slogan "The Unmistakable Voices of Brazil." Throughout their career, Trio da Vitória released several LPs and singles, charting hits such as "Expresso Boiadeiro," "Vivendo Longe do Meu Bem," "Mágoa de Boiadeiro," and "Não Toque Essa Música." They had their own show on Rádio Tupi in São Paulo and performed in-demand concerts, including outselling the group Secos e Molhados in Uberlândia in 1973.

Over the years, Trio da Vitória underwent a few lineup changes, with various accordionists joining the group, such as Rezendinho, Nhozinho, Wanderley, and Zancaneli. Venâncio, the leader of the trio, passed away in November 2022, followed by Venancinho in May 2023 and Wanderley da Sanfona in April 2025. The legacy of Trio da Vitória remains in the rich history of Brazilian sertanejo music.
