Biography

Trio Inajá was a Brazilian vocal trio formed in 1958 in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The group emerged after the dissolution of the ensemble Os Três Brilhantes, with two of its members, Francisco Franklin and Jomar Siqueira, deciding to form a new musical project. They invited Ridálio Galvão to join them, and together they conceived the name Trio Inajá, which is an indigenous term for the palm tree where thrushes sing. The trio performed in various clubs and cabarets in Natal and also in the states of Pará, Paraíba, Pernambuco, and Maranhão.

In 1968, Trio Inajá recorded their first single for Rozenblit, featuring the compositions "Adeus, Caicó" by Francisco Franklin and José Lucas, and "Prece de vaqueiro" by Luis Paulo and Jaime Paulo. The group disbanded in 1971 due to professional commitments with Banco do Brasil, where all three members were employed. After retiring from the bank, they resumed their artistic careers in 1993, performing in various music venues in Natal. In 1997, they participated in a CD tribute to the patron saint of the city of Caicó. In 1998, they won the Banco do Brasil Music Award for their rendition of "Smile" by Charles Chaplin.

Although their active career as a trio spanned from 1958 to 1971, Trio Inajá left a mark on the Brazilian music scene with their vocal performances. Their reunion in the 1990s demonstrated their enduring passion for music and their connection with their audience. The trio's repertoire included popular Brazilian songs, showcasing their versatility and talent.
